Partnering with Tenacious, a media company seeks to scale the impact of its interactive edutainment for children across Africa and utilize the available data for better decision-making across the organization. The data project aims at transforming the organization into a data-led entity. Different departments across the organization have inquiries about past data and have set ambitious goals, necessitating insights into the data available to guide strategic decisions.
Project Overview
The media company has traditionally relied on Google Drive and GSheets to monitor progress, resulting in fragmented data storage and limited accessibility. With much critical knowledge residing within the team leads' heads and an impending transition to a new system, the company recognized the urgent need to streamline its data management processes. Collaborating with Tenacious, it aims to harness the power of data to achieve its team's goals across the organization. This endeavor involves the construction of a comprehensive data warehouse as a centralized repository, alongside exploratory data analysis (EDA) to unearth valuable insights. Additionally, interactive dashboards will be developed to provide visual representations of key metrics, empowering them with the capability to make informed decisions based on data-driven insights.
Solution Architecture
Our proposed solution for the data project is founded on a robust framework consisting of three main components: the Data Warehouse, Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), and Dashboards. The Data Warehouse serves as the cornerstone, centralizing all company data, including internal documents, social media data, surveys, and KPI data, thereby establishing a single source of truth. This centralization facilitates seamless information exchange between departments, fostering greater clarity and collaboration. Through EDA, our team conducted a comprehensive exploration and analysis of the data, employing statistical analysis techniques to unveil actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and enhance performance.
Additionally, we designed and developed interactive dashboards tailored to the company’s key performance indicators, providing stakeholders with real-time access to key performance metrics in a user-friendly and visually appealing format. Leveraging dashboard software, data visualization tools, and web development frameworks, our approach empowered them to make data-driven decisions and achieve their business objectives. Finally, meticulous documentation of methodologies, processes, and outcomes ensures transparency and clarity, facilitating effective project management and stakeholder communication.
The project was meticulously executed to establish a scalable and efficient infrastructure for managing and analyzing diverse data sources. Leveraging AWS Redshift and Google BigQuery, we adopted a data lakehouse approach to optimize cost-efficiency and analytical value.
